Anchorages
Sliding Beam Anchors
Features:

A secure point of attachment. Anchorage connectors vary by industry, job, type of installation, and structure. They must be able to support the intended loads and provide a sufficient factor of safety for fall arrest.

Anchorages- Beam Anchors
Features:

Anchorages are sold by what they connect to (general/all purpose, steel, concrete, roof or specialty), whether they are fixed or mobile, and whether they are permanent or portable.

They all must provide a secure point of attachment for a complete personal fall arrest system and must be capable of supporting a load of 5,000 lbs. (22kN) or of meeting OSHA’s criteria of a 2 to 1 safety factor.

Body Support
Body Support- Full Body Harness- Protecta
Features:

Full body harnesses distribute fall arrest forces across the shoulders, upper thighs, chest, and pelvis. Fall arrest harnesses feature a dorsal D-ring for attaching to the connector such as a lanyard and may have other D-rings for use in worker positioning, travel restraint, retrieval or ladder climbing. They are the only form of body support acceptable for fall arrest and should be selected based on the job task as well as the work environment.

Body Support- Full Body Harness
Features:

Body support refers to fall protection equipment that directly supports the worker’s weight and maintains the body in a safe position during and after a fall event. Worker comfort, fit, and ease of use are key considerations in the selection of body support equipment like a full body harness that a worker may wear for extended periods during a work.

Confined Space
Confined Space-Side Entry
Features:

No two confined spaces are exactly alike. Type, size and hazards vary greatly, along with different standards, regulations and company policies that can apply to each working environment.

Confined space – Top Entry
Features:

Confined spaces often present unseen and unique challenges. Confined spaces are areas that meet all of the following criteria:

  • Large enough for workers to enter and perform certain jobs
  • Limited or restricted means for entry or exit
  • Not designed for continuous occupancy

Connectors
Connectors- SRL
Features:

The 3M™ DBI-SALA® Sealed-Blok™ Self-Retracting Lifeline (SRL) incorporates a patented concept that helps separate components, such as the motor spring and brake, from foreign elements such as grease, moisture, and dirt. In addition, it features patent-pending technology that reduces retraction speed, limiting the effects of a released lifeline on the SRL and surrounding equipment. The 3M™ DBI-SALA® Sealed-Blok™ Self-Retracting Lifeline is IP-69K rated to provide protection against ingress of dust, high temperatures, and high-pressure water, for use in extreme environmental conditions. These lifelines are available in SRL, Retrieval SRL, and RSQ™ configurations.

Connectors- Lanyards
Features:

Connectors attach the worker’s harness to the anchorage connector. Types will vary depending on whether the worker needs connection of a personal fall arrest or positioning and travel restriction. A personal fall arrest connector is often a shock-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline equipped with an energy-absorbing element to reduce the force transmitted to the user’s body in the event of a fall.

Descent/Rescue
Derrick Escape Device
Features:

The Rollgliss™ Descent Device will get personnel down safely from high places when quick escape is vital. Either angled or sloped descent models are available to provide complete versatility and flexibility for any job site or work environment. The Rollgliss™ Descent Device is also extremely easy to operate. No power source or special skills or tools are required. Once the unit is secured to an anchorage, connect the snap hook to the D ring on your safety harness and step off the structure. If using a sloped descent model, connect the emergency descent device with the guide cable sleeve or braking trolley and suspension bars to a user supplied and installed guide cable.

Descent/Rescue
Features:

Employers must have a rescue plan that either provides the prompt rescue of employees in the event of a fall or ensures that employees are able to rescue themselves. Executing this plan may require the use of a rescue system designed for the application. These devices include ascenders and descenders that help get workers who are experiencing a problem back to a safe level safely, either by themselves or through the assistance of rescue personnel.

Education/Training
Training
Features:

This training is aimed towards personnel using fall protection (harness/lanyards) to work at height in a range of different industrial environments such as rooftops, workshops, factories, quarries, and in construction.

Education/Training
Features:

Aimed at those working at height, this course focuses on workmate rescue from a range of scenarios typically found in the workplace. Those attending are taught to assess the situation, and consider all the available options before attempting a rescue. The techniques taught on the course are designed to be simple, user friendly and easy to remember while not putting the rescuer at risk. Training focuses on lowering and hauling techniques but does not cover abseil rescues.

Fall Protection for Tools
Fall Protection for Tools- Drop
Features:

Identifying a dropped object hazard can be as simple as noticing a small tool or pile of screws laying near an at-height edge—any of which could be accidentally kicked or blown by the wind, falling to a lower level. However, hazards are oftentimes less obvious, such as tools precariously stored in pockets, pouches or bags with insecure enclosures. There are two primary types of falling object incidents: direct impact and deflections.

Fall Protection for Tools- Drops
Features:

Working at height poses a series of threats to the workplace. Height safety requires more than just protecting workers from the risks of working at height. Objects dropped from height can result in personnel injury to workers and others at a worksite, as well as equipment damage and tool loss, yet these hazards are often overlooked in planning for workplace safety. Remember, fall protection is about you; dropped object prevention is about those around you.
